ALEXANDER EISENBERG, violin, Alex Eisenberg, a brilliant Ukrainian violinist, was born in Odessa, into a musical family that included his grandfather Michael Greenberg, a famous Russian pedagogue and chamber musician. Alex began his musical studies in Odessa and then at the Moscow Conservatory where he won numerous competitions. After leaving the Soviet Union, Alex studied at the Hochschule fur Music, Vienna. Alex won the First Prize and a Gold medal in the Michelangelo Abbado Violin Competition in Sondrio, Italy, along with the Paolo Borciani special prize for chamber music. He is also a winner of Concorso Internationale Rameu in France.
As a soloist, conductor and chamber musician, Alex has performed in Europe, South and North Americas with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Soloists, Moscow Symphony, Odessa Philharmonic, Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra, Dubrovnik Festival Orchestra, Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra. With TOCCATA-Tahoe Symphony, he has performed the violin concerti of Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Mozart’s Sinfonie Concertante. Alex Eisenberg currently enters his 8th season as a Music Director of Capriccio Chamber Orchestra. His previous conducting engagements have included guest conducting of the West Coast Symphony Orchestra, Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Intenazionale D’Italia, the Vorarlberg Kammerorchester, and several other ensembles.
