Sponsoring TOCCATA Events, Soloists, and Soiree Fundraisers

TOCCATA, like most musical organizations, offers donors an opportunity to Sponsor artists, works or individual performances. A single performance of a series may be sponsored. In the past, this has often been done to support a free performance. In 2018, we had two Memorial performances. Many sponsorship contributions remembered these friends and supported the Memorial. Sponsorships have also been used to have a performance at a venue where it might not otherwise be performed.

Guest artists perform for TOCCATA for fees which are often much less that they would normally receive. Sponsoring an artist helps TOCCATA attract a broader pool of talent. Donors also often agree to support the lodging and travel needs of our visiting artists. For the specific case of performing a major Piano Concerto with TOCCATA, the Pianos themselves will require adjustment and tuning services (and sometimes, actual delivery charges.) Piano costs are a major factor in our ability to schedule such works, and support is greatly appreciated.

Sponsoring a work for a series can be of great benefit to TOCCATA. There are a number of works we might like to perform but must bypass for financial reasons. One reason is that newer more popular works are only available for an often substantial "performance license" fee. Another reason is that large-scale works may sometimes require TOCCATA to hire a number of additional paid musicians, to "cover" all of the parts.

Sponsors, and the purpose of their gifts, are recognized in the program.
